Expanded Flu Vaccination Programme to Focus on Most Vulnerable First

Because of the threat of Coronavirus, and to reduce pressure on the NHS, this year’s free flu vaccination will be made available to a wider group of people in a phased approach.

This includes people who are on the shielded patient list and members of their household as well as all school year groups up to year 7.

People aged 50-64 who are not in a clinical risk group will also be vaccinated from November, providing there is enough vaccine.

It is important that those at most risk from flu are vaccinated first, and GPs and pharmacies are working hard to get these groups protected from flu.

Your practice will contact you once they are ready to offer you the vaccine. The NHS provides information about flu
